Fred Tullock:  Photographer

“I strive to capture the strength and splendor of everyday people, surroundings and events, and invite the viewer to find beauty in ordinary places.”

Fred enjoyed a long career as an engineer, while his love of photography let him get beyond the dispassionate and tangible, and find balance for himself.

Fred took his first photograph as a child in 1968.  In 1983 he first began to think of photography as an art form, took a photography class, and built his first darkroom.   He has had images published in newspapers, Special Olympic reports, and Connecticut Magazine.

Fred has received numerous awards from contests and fairs throughout Connecticut.  The 2019 Torrington Savings Bank Calendar uses one of his images.  Fred and his wife Jan love spending their vacations photographing in quiet natural locations such as the Adirondacks, Acadia or Cape Breton Island.

Fred and Jan Tullock are members of: Photographic Historical Society of New England, Connecticut Association of Photographers, Charter Oak Photographic Society and Litchfield Hills Camera Club (www.Lithillscc.org) which meets in Harwinton.
