Harry C. Barnes Nature Center Hike:
Trails of the Past, Present and Future
Sunday, December 3rd
1-3:30 pm
Hike trails from the 70s, 80s and 2020s around the Barnes Nature Center in a 3 mile loop with hike leader, Alan Perrie.

Climb up a Mega Glacial Esker on the new Purple Trail into the 63 acre Pigeon Hill Preserve and learn how the land was saved from mining and development.

Discover the newly designed and almost completed Universally Accessible Nature Trail, which is a first in CT!

Visit the exhibits in the Nature Center.
For the hike:
Wear sturdy shoes/boots.
Bring hiking poles, especially useful for the climb up the esker. There are hills to climb and descend.
Carry water and snacks, if you’d like.
Pre-registration is appreciated at this link in case of bad weather.
Please leave your “furever” friends at home.
Parking and Meeting Spot:
The hike will begin and end at the Harry C. Barnes Nature Center on 175 Shrub Rd, Bristol, CT 06010. Meet on the sidewalk in front of the Nature Center.
