Join the Burlington Land Trust on a hike to Perry’s Lookout!
Sunday, November 5th
1:00-3:30 pm
Hike Description:
Join Alan Perrie, hiker extraordinaire and Karen Geitz, BLT Director, to explore the 300 acre Taine Mountain Preserve on a 3.2 mile hike. Participants will follow the Blue/Red Trail to Perry’s Lookout, which has a wonderful view of Burlington to the south and west with beautiful fall colors. See a National Geodetic Survey Marker and learn about how NOAA and other agencies use it. The hikers will walk on a variety of Tunxis side trails through different types of forest and over stepping stone bridges built by the CFPA.. The group will also find out about the three landowners that had the vision to preserve this magical spot. There are rolling hills and two steep inclines and declines as the walk goes up and down Taine Mountain.
