Hello Burlington! The DEEP Forestry is closing the Blue/Red Trail on the east side of Stone Road that connects with George Washington Turnpike on Monday June 11. It is only expected to be closed for a few days, reopening by the weekend of June 16-17. Please observe signs and stay away during this time, while logging occurs to take down gypsy moth killed white oak and other hazard trees. The Blue Trail was originally not included in the neighboring timber harvest but the gypsy moth attack in 2017, which followed a severe drought in 2016, killed many oak trees on that plateau of the state forest.
