The hike forms a 3.3 miles lollipop loop and its magic is the quiet of the New Britain Water Department’s extensive forested acreage.   95% of this hike is far from the sounds of traffic on busy Milford Street (route 69) so It makes you feel as if you are in a Vermont forest in the Green Mountains. Since this hike is mostly on mountain biking trails, the trail markers are far apart.   You have to follow the trail like Daniel Boone by looking for the tread on the ground.  Alan Perrie, your hike leader, will ask hikers to lead on short sections between the yellow diamond trail markers.
