The Burlington Land Trust owns or manages over 400-acres of open space in Burlington
The Brower Property
The Burlington Land Trust is the proud owner of the 43-acre Martha Brower Nature Preserve. Established in 2001 by Martha's husband Mike, who, together with his late wife, loved and owned the land for 50 years. His gift to us is a gift to all the people of Burlington. It contains a large pond and a section of the Tunxis Trail, which leads to the beautiful and challenging Mile of Ledges and Tory Den. In 2011 the BLT was given an additional abutting 1.5 acres by Art Morenz.
The Taine Mountain Preserves
The Burlington Land Trust has managed 187 acres of forest land for the Nature Conservancy on Taine Mountain since 1994
Two abutting parcels comprising 11 acres were donated by Jennifer Ventres.
The Burlington Land Trust also owns 13-acres off Punch Brook Road. It was donated anonymously.
The Burlington Land Trust manages an additional 105-acres on Taine Mountain purchased by the Town in 2015. There are now 300 acres of permanently protected open space on Taine Mountain
The Fetzer Property
The BLT was given this beautiful 11 acre property by Richard & Marilyn Fetzer in 2015. We all owe a debt of gratitude for their openspace legacy that will benefit us all for generations to come. There are no public hiking trails on the property but if you would like more information or to visit contact us.
