Hike Description

Join Alan Perrie, hike leader and Karen Geitz, a Burlington Land Trust Director, on a combination of Blue Trail and New England Mountain Biking Association Trails for a 3.9 mile loop hike.  The hike has rolling hills through the forest on the bike trails and flat more open areas along the Blue/Orange Trail.  Along the way, hear the interesting history about Lamson Corner, Stoney Hill Rd., and Whigville Reservoir.

What you need for the hike

Wear hiking boots or shoes.   Carry water & snacks if you’d like.

Meeting point

From the intersection of Rtes. 4 and 69 in the center of Burlington (where Dunkin Donuts and Cumberland Farms are), head south towards Bristol on Route 69.  At 2.1 miles, turn right onto Scoville Rd.  It’s directly across from Lamson Cemetery.  Park on either side of Scoville Rd.  Walk across Rte. 69 and wait at the gate where the Blue/Orange trail begins.

Please keep your "furever" friends at home.

THE HIKE IS FULL.

Preregistration is appreciated for updates on trail conditions and space is limited.

A couple of interesting things to look at before you hike these trails:

  1.  This is the map of the trail we will hike.

  2.  Looking for a hiking challenge?  The BLT has two for you!  Check out this link.

  3.  Look at Alan’s trail descriptions and maps for the hike and bike trails at this link.

  4.  Try out the GAIA GPS app.  This app is great for finding your way because it does not operate off cell towers and it has a directional compass to show where you’re headed.  It pinpoints your exact location and direction.
