Meet at the Flagpole
The Mega Loop is a 16 mile loop hike that starts and ends at Session Woods Wildlife Management Area. This loop allows you to hike a variety of trails and experience the best Burlington has to offer.
This hike will take us through the beautiful Session Woods Wildlife Management Area, the famous Mile of Ledges, the picturesque Brower Property and Nassahegon State Forest. Given the length of the hike and limited daylight this time of year, we will begin early to take advantage of daylight.
There are many bail out options for those that may want to only hike a portion of the Mega Loop.
This will be a full day unsupported hike. Participants are responsible for bringing their own food and water. There are several options for staging water and resupply items over the course of the hike. The hike leader can discuss resupply staging and bail out options upon registration. Appropriate hiking shoes and clothing for the elements and a headlamp/flashlight are required. Trekking poles, a compass, first aid kit and layered clothing are highly recommended.
Restrooms are not available on the route so participants should pack all necessary personal hygiene items.
No dogs please. Heavy rain or snow cancels. Participants will be asked to maintain social distancing to ensure the safety of their fellow hikers.
